Japan will help Poland, Prime Minister Kishida promised

Warsaw, Mar 22, (Fast Mail News):-- Japan's Prime Minister Fumio Kishida promised on Wednesday that his country would help Poland's development, so that the European country could help neighboring Ukraine.

Ukraine has been struggling to defend itself since the Russian invasion. Kishida, who arrived in Poland after a surprise visit to Ukraine and meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, met his counterpart here on Wednesday, Mattiasz Morawiecki. Kishida said that in view of the increased burden on Poland due to the long-running conflict in Ukraine, Japan would offer assistance to Poland so that it can play its role. He said that Japan usually offers developing countries, which Poland is no longer, but the Japanese government will make a special concession. Kishida said it was important for like-minded countries like Japan and Poland to remain united in their support for Ukraine and more sanctions against Russia.

In a joint press conference, Morawiecki said that both such countries understand that Russia's imperialism is threatening world peace and world order. He said that Poland is providing military, humanitarian and political support to Ukraine in the 13-month war. Kishida is preparing to chair the summit of the G-7 group of countries in May this year. He said that Japan, during its presidency of the G-7, will work with Poland to demonstrate to the leadership that the international community is united in its strong support for Ukraine.
