40 children forced to study in a single room in Dhenkanal

DHENKANAL:While the state government claims to boost the educational system in the state,its aberrations are noticed in Dhenkanal town.

Around 40 students from class one to five are reading in one class room of government Primary School located at ward number 18 of Dhenkanal town.On one side, students of five classes are studying in an asbestos room and on the other side, there is an open drain situated in front of the room. This has created widespread resentment among the students and guardians in the urban ward.

According to a report,this Rameswarpur primary school was set up in 1979 where little children from class one to five get education due to the maintenance of the school. Now there is one room left for the clash room.The school building has an asbestos roof which also needs repair.

A guardian says,”There is a very difficult situation when 40 students are being forced to accommodate in a single room of the school.There is a danger to the lives of the students under that asbestos thatched room.Despite repeated appeals to concerned authorities to repair the school nothing has been done yet”.

The district education officer B Senapati said,she is unaware of the plight of the students of Rameswarpur government primary school.She said she will look into the matter and will ensure that all the problems facing the school will be solved.o
