6 killed as fire breaks out in Hyderabad's Swapnalok complex

 HYDERABAD:At least  6 persons,including women were killed in a m massive fire that broke out at Swapnalok Complex in Hyderabad at 7:30 pm on Thursday.

According to reports,six marketing employees have died in this incident. The fire was officially confirmed to have started due to a short circuit in the lift between the sixth and seventh floors.

Reports said,four fire engines are at the scene to put out the fire. Relief and rescue work is going on. Rescuers said more than 15 employees trapped in the complex have been evacuated safely. Many employees were present in the office when the incident happened. There are also many shops and warehouses on other floors of this complex. The fire spread rapidly,according to reports.

 

 

 Minister of State Srinivas Yadav, Home Minister Mahmood Ali and Hyderabad City Mayor Vijayalakshmi reached the spot and gave necessary directions to the revenue and municipal officials.

The  deceased are identified as Pramila, Vennela, Shravani, Prashant, Triveni and Shiva. Those who died in the fire incident were employees of a private marketing company on the sixth floor of the complex.

Superintendent of Gandhi Hospital Raja Rao said that after the fire there were deaths due to suffocation due to smoke. The age of the deceased is said to be between 22 and 25 years. Rescue work is going on at the scene. At present, police and municipal officials are engaged in a search operation of this 12-storey complex.
