6 terrorists, 2 security personnel killed in NW Pakistan

 Pakistani security forces killed six terrorists in an operation in the North Waziristan tribal district of the country's northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, the military said on Thursday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistan army, said in a statement that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Mir Ali area of the district on the reported presence of terrorists on Wednesday night.

 

 "The troops effectively engaged the terrorists' location and resultantly killed six terrorists," said the ISPR, adding that during an intense fire exchange, two security personnel, including a major, were martyred.

The military had launched a clearance operation in the region to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.
