Ailing tusker dies in Angul
ANGUL: An ailing male tusker who was undergoing treatment at Balanga reserve forest under Bantala forest range since March 29 finally died last night.The post mortem was conducted by vertinery doctors today and samples were sent to OUAT for further test.
According to ranger Prasana Sahoo,the forest squad on march 29,spotted a 10-year-old male tusker t Baanga reserve forest.They informedsenior forest officials who rushed to the spot.Doctors were called in and he was kept under observation.The animal was very much weak and couldn’t walk.
The ranger said,finally the elephant was tranquilised on April 1st and was given treatment.But there was no improvement on his health even after medicines were provided to him.Finally the elephant was found dead last night.
