Angul: Ten arrested in connection with murderous attack on youth on Monday
ANGUL(Fast Mail):After four days,Angul town police have arrested ten persons in connection with the murderous attack on one Partha Sarathi Pradhan of village Angarabandha on last Monday.Pradhan was attacked by six to seven armed youths with lethal weapons at Amalapara petrol tank on Monday last.
Pradhan who is a body builder had just come from gymnasium at Maitri Nagar.Pradhan sustained serious injuries on his chest and was rushed to Angul district for medical treatment.
Angul police lodged an FIR on the basis of the complaint by his father Bibhuti Pradhan on the same day.Since then police launched massive investigations and rounded up 10 persons in this connection including the main accused.It has revealed the names of four accused but didn’t reveal other names for the sake of investigations.The four accused are Jagan Naik(Silu),19,Samay Naik,25,Nipun Naik,22 and Rahul Naik ,23.
Police said past enmity was the motive behind the attack.It also seized sharp-edged weapons,ready cash,bikes and two scooters from their possession.Police said Silu was a student of Bantala college and had a quarrel with another student Bithal Sahoo.The brother of Bithal Sahoo Binod along with Partha were assaulting Silu time and again. Silu wanted to take revenge and formed a gang.It attacked Partha on last Monday at Amalapara as planned with lethal weapons.
Police are still investigating the involvement of these arrested persons in various crimes in the locality.The arrests have been forwarded to court.
