Budget 2025 is a band-aid for bullet wounds : Rahul Gandhi

By Jagadananda Pradhan
(Fast Mail News):--
The Congress on Saturday alleged that there was nothing in the Union Budget to solve the crisis related to economy and said that the bandage has been applied on the bullet wound.

In his reaction to the Union Budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the financial year 2025-26, Modi said that today the country is running with the mantra of 'Vikas Bhi, Virasat Bhi' and very important and concrete steps have been taken for this in this budget.

How ever, the leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has slammed the centre over the budget 2025.Gandhi posted on 'X', "A bandage for the bullet wound!"

He alleged that amid global uncertainty, a paradigm shift is needed to solve our economic crisis, but this government is bankrupt of ideas.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh said that relief has been given only for income tax payers, but what will be its real impact on the economy is yet to be seen.

He also said that due to the assembly elections to be held this year, many announcements have been made for Bihar, while Andhra Pradesh has been ignored.

Ramesh posted on 'X', "The economy is currently surrounded by crises like stagnant real wages, lack of boom in mass consumption, sluggish private investment rates and a complex and complicated GST system. There is nothing in the budget to address these problems." He said, "It seems that Bihar has got a treasure trove of announcements. This is natural because elections are to be held there at the end of the year."

Congress's organization general secretary KC Venugopal posted on 'X', "The budget will do nothing to put India's faltering economy back on track. The government has tried to deceive the public by giving empty slogans with no vision or relief for the poor and marginalised sections of the society.

There is no vision for job creation, nothing to improve India's investment climate, no MSP guarantee for farmers and no strategy to combat the rampant inflation that is destroying the budgets of middle class families, he claimed.

Venugopal alleged that this budget reflects another attempt to destroy MNREGA as the Centre failed to increase the budget allocated for the scheme that provides a safety net to crores of Indian citizens.

The Congress leader claimed that the budget has sent out the message that this government is only capable of adopting electoral gimmicks for its politics but cannot address the severe economic crisis being experienced across the country today.
