Congress has always respected President, BJP insulted her not by inviting to inauguration of Parliament building : Kharge

By Jagadananda Pradhan
 NEW DELHI:
After President Draupadi Murmu's long speech in both the houses of Parliament, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge hits back at the BJP's attempts to create controversy over a comment by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, saying that the President was insulted by the Modi government the same day when he was not invited to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament. Kharge said that the Indian National Congress and our leaders can never insult His Excellency the President or any citizen. This is not our culture,Kharge said.

The Congress President said on the social media platform X on Friday, "President Draupadi Murmu was insulted by the Modi government the same day when she was not invited to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament. The Indian National Congress and our leaders can never insult the President or any citizen. This is not our culture. BJP deliberately kept our current President and the previous President away from both the temple of democracy and the Ram temple."

Kharge further said, "Today the Economic Survey has shown the "mirror of truth" to the Modi government. To hide the plight of the economy, BJP leaders and a section of the media are twisting Sonia Gandhi's statement. The Congress party has always respected the dignity of the post of the President." Earlier, Priyanka Gandhi also said that it is very unfortunate that the media twisted her statement. When asked about the demand for apology from the BJP, she said that the BJP has drowned the country, first apologize for that.

It is learnt that after participating in the joint address on Friday, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi were talking among themselves. Meanwhile, Sonia Gandhi said on the President's speech that there was nothing new in it. Old things have been repeated. Sonia went towards Priyanka Gandhi and said that the President was very tired while reading the long speech. She was able to speak with great difficulty. She said this while sympathizing with her.

BJP is trying to create controversy by calling this comment of Sonia Gandhi an insult to the President,Kharge expressed.
