Congress Launches ‘Samvidhan Leadership Programme’ for Marginalized Communities
(Fast Mail News): The Congress party has initiated the ‘Samvidhan Leadership Programme’ to amplify the voice of “participation and justice” for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes, Extremely Backward Classes, Pasmanda Muslims, economically weaker sections, and minorities. This programme was launched under the party’s ‘White T-Shirt Movement’.
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi called upon people from these communities to join the programme and fight for their rights, social justice through caste census, and greater participation.
In a post on ‘X’, he stated, “Until the true participation and share of marginalized communities are ensured, justice will remain incomplete. If you are a woman, Dalit, Mahadalit, Backward, Extremely Backward, Pasmanda, from an economically weaker section, or a minority, or lead these communities, join our ‘Samvidhan Leadership Programme’.”
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha added, “Come together to strengthen the fight for your rights, social justice through caste census, and your participation. The time has come to unite and raise your voice with strength.” He also shared a link to the ‘White T-Shirt Movement’ website.
The website further explains, “Individuals selected for this program will work as ‘Community Organizers’ and ‘Mobilizers’ in their respective areas and districts in Bihar. They will proudly wear white T-shirts, leading the way—organizing, educating, and spearheading resistance.”
Rahul Gandhi wore a white T-shirt during the ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’, a foot march from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, and has often been seen in white T-shirts since then.
The Congress, long associated with khadi, launched the ‘White T-Shirt Movement’ a few months ago. The movement’s website describes it as “India’s first justice-based political effort for the working class and marginalized communities, building a strong movement through social dialogue. It amplifies the organized strength of youth and workers by uniting their efforts.”
