Dacoits struck Angul family who lost house owner in an accident

ANGUL: Before the cremation of the body of the house owner,a grief-stricken family Handapa area faced barbaric attack from armed dacoits last night.This incident has shaken the conscience of mankind.Police is yet to achieve breakthrough in this incident.

According to report,Bijay Kumar Sao,50 of village Laxmipriyapur under Handapa police station was a businessman.Yesterday while he was driving his tractor at Badkera area he accidentally fell down from the vehicle and got seriously injured.Sahoo was rushed to nearby Chhendipada primary health centre where he died..Hearing the sad news his family members rushed to Chhendipada hospital and stayed there till the evening waiting for post mortem.

At night his family members returned to home at Laxmipriyapur village.Some neighbours also assembled in the house to offer condolences.In the meantime,at about 11 pm around tem armed dacoits struck the bereaved house with weapons.They beat up the family members and started looting the family on pistol point.They were armed with pistols,swords and iron rods.

After ransacking the house they looted around 1.32 lakhs 10grams of gold and 11 mobiles from the family members and the neighbours by terrorising them.They fled warning the villagers not to inform the police.Sources also said,before they struck the house they had taken liquor at a nearby dhaba and came in a bolero.

On being informed police rushed to the house in the morning and conducted several raids.But so far no arrest has been made.This incident has sent a shock wave in the district asto how the dacoits didn't spare a family who had not finished the last rites of the deceased of the family..

Angul SP Rahul Jain said,"raids are being conducted at various points to nab the culprit.We have found some clues and are proceeding in that direction.We hope to crack the case very soon".
