Deputy chief minister reviews paddy procurement drive in Dhenkanal
DHENKANAL:The deputy chief minister Prabhati Parida today chaired a review meeting at Zilla Parisad Conference hall on paddy procurement from farmers and advised officials to see that the paddy procurement in the district goes in a smooth and transparent manner.
Dhenkanal collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay and SP Abhinab Sonkar,ADM Lalit Kumar Behera among other district officials were present in the meeting. Dhekanal MP Rudra Narayan Pani,MLA Satrughana Jena,Simarani Naik and the minister Krishna Chandra Patra and Rama Chandra Patra also attended the meeting.
The minister took a threadbare appraisal of the on-going paddy procurement activities in the district.She warned stern action against any officials for whom the farmers will face problem in selling their produce. She stressed on treating the issue of farmers on humanitarian point of view and asked district officials to take all necessary arrangements for the hassle-free paddy procurement across the district.She said that farmers are assured that there will be no “Katni or Chhatin” at paddy procurement centre.The farmers will be paid rupees 3100 as fixed by state government.She hinted that there will be 15lqkh quintal of paddy will be collected through 16 millers.
The deputy chief minister also emphasised the need to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the paddy procurement centre during the collection time.
Collector Upadhay said if necessary more centres will be opened to purchase from the farmers without Katni and Chhatni.The officials will give all information to the farers in this regard.He also said that attention will be paid to attract as many as farmers to sell produce in the procurement centres.
