Dhenkanal BJD block chairman lost no-confidence motion
DHENKANAL: Dhenkanal Sadar block chairperson Rajashree Naik who belongs to BJD was voted out of power today in a no-confidence motion against her.
In the voting which took place today,44 votes were cast in favour of the no-confidence motion while 17 were in against.Local Tahasildar NS Mishra conducted the meeting that considered the no-confidence motion.
He said a total of 62 votes were cast in the meeting.One vote got rejected.The no-confidence motion was brought by BJP members on November 6 last and voting took place today.
Welcoming the ouster of BJD chairperson the state food and supply minister Krishna Chandra Patra has said the BJD fortress in Dhenkanal and the state is on wane.People are rejecting BJD and are attracted towards BJP for its popular policies.
The former Dhenkanal BJD MLA Sudhir Samal said BJP is using its power and official machinery to coerce elected members into its fold.He said BJD fortress in Dhenkanal remains intact.
It may be noted that some days ago Gondia block chairman Reenarani Khatua had jumped into BJP from BJD.Now,with the ouster of another BJD chairperson is a great set back to BJD in Dhenkanal district,experts opined.
