Dhenkanal: Man kills neighbour on a minor provocation in Kamakhyanagar village

DHENKANAL(Fast Mail):-- In a minor provocation, a man at village Kandhagola under Kamakhyanagar police station has axed his neighbour to death last night.

The deceased has been identified as Bimbadhar Nayak,51.Police finally nabbed the accused Gangdhar Pradhan,50 from jungle today morning after hectic search.The body has been sent for post mortem report and the accused has been arrested. He was forwarded to court this evening.

According to Kamakhyanagar IIC Dhiren Kumar Behera,the accused Gangadhar and the deceased Bimbadhar are two neighbors in village Kadhagola.Both were earning as daily wage earners.

The deceased Bimbadhar was to get some money from Gangadhar and had been always asking him always.Last evening under the influence of the liquor Bimbadhar came to his village and found Gangadhar standing near his house.There he asked for money and allegedly abused.This had infuriated Gangadhar who hit Bimbadhar with an axe on his head.

As Bimbadhar fell down Gangadhar went on hitting on his chest and body with the axe killing on the spot. Then the villagers called 112 vehicles which reached the village and took Bimbadhar to Kamakhyanagar hospital where doctors declared him dead.

The IIC said after committing the crime Gangadhar fled from the village. Police made a night-long search and finally nabbed him early in the morning from a nearby forest. The IIC said the accused was arrested and forwarded to court today.
