Four dead in road mishap in Angul

 ANGUL: Atleast four persons died in separate road accidents in Angul district today.While two mishaps occurred on NH-55,another mishap took place on NH-149.

In an accident occurred at Nuapada chhak of NH-149 under Talcher police station two persons died instantly when their motorcycle was hit by a coal laden truck from behind at Nuapada chhak at about 4pm today.The deceased have been identified as  Alekha sahoo,50 of village Ankula and Braja Kishore Sahoo,45 of village Khalari.The duo was going from Balhar chhak toAngul their home after attending a marriage ceremony.As soon as their motorcycle reached  Nuapada chhak a truck from behind hit the motorcycle killing the two on the spot.

 

 

There was a traffic jam on Talcher-Banarpal route by which Talcher police had rushed.By the time police reached on the spot ,the truck driver has fled from the spot.Police seized the truck only and pacified the locals who created road block.

The IIC Digvijay Biswal said,a case of unnatural death has been registered in Talcher police station in this regard.Similarly at NH-55 two accidents occurred killing two persons.At Kulad,a gas tanker ran over one Akhaya Samal of village Gadasantri while he was  attending an electrical works .Samal died on the spot.The fourth accident took place at  Jarada chhak when a trawler coming from Sambalpur side hit a bike killing  Hrudanand bag of village Nukeipasi.

The reckless drive of the truckers on NH-149 and NH-55 have resulted in occurance of recurrent mishap when district authorities are conducting meetings to secure road safety.
