Almost daily acute traffic jams are reported after pm when heavy vehicles are allowed on NH-55 as per the administrative order.Subash Pradhan,a resident said,"The traffic situation is horrible not only in evening time but also in day time due to parking.
After the evening the situation becomes so worst that even two wheeler can not pass on this part of road.It takes hours together to travel on this road.It is high time that four laning of NH should take place to avoid such type of acute traffic jam on this NH.
Talcher SDPO Manas ranjan Barik while admitting the traffic jam said, the widening four-laning of the road between Talcher to Banarpal and beyond is the only solution of the pestering problem. He said police is required everyday to clear the road and coalmining authorities have been asked not to allow the coal transporting truck from the mines during no-entry ban.
