Speaking to reporters, the state president Ramachndra Khuntia accused state and central government of indifference  in the expansion work of NH-55 and NH-53.he also alleged raw deal by central sector undertakings working in Angul district in giving employment to land oustees.

He warned that if his 10-point charter of demands are not met  then the collector office will be gheraoed with thousands of people. The INTUC protest came in wake of inordinate delay in the work of four-laning of NH-55.Though the work was started in 2028 it is still continuing amid wretched conditions of the road right from Manguli chhak to Sambalpur. Here also condition of NH-149 linking Kaniha to Banarpal is so worst that it is dangerous to travel on this road..Several agitations  by local outfits were staged. But there was no result so far from centre and state government.
