Investigative agencies are 'misleading' SC,Opposition parties to protest today: Sanjay Singh

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) accused the central investigating agencies of 'misleading' the Supreme Court and said that the opposition alliance 'INDIA' will protest against it in the Parliament premises today.

Addressing a press conference here on Sunday, AAP Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh said that despite the lower court granting bail to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the liquor policy case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) sought the High Court's intervention and got his bail stayed.

He claimed that when Chief Minister Kejriwal was about to get bail from the Supreme Court later, the central government got him arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

Sanjay Singh said that this is 'gross misuse of investigating agencies'. He said that both the ED and the CBI have no evidence against Arvind Kejriwal and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia. No investigating agency has given any immediate reaction to this claim of Sanjay Singh.

Singh said the opposition alliance 'INDIA' will hold a protest against the agencies in Parliament on Monday. On Saturday, 'INDIA' leaders had held a meeting at the residence of Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge on the issue of 'misuse of investigative agencies'.
