On World Brain Day,doctors have said that people should get their full sleep instead of wasting time on the internet.
Doctors said that adequate sleep of seven hours is very important to help the brain function better. They warned that lack of sleep can cause brain-related problems.
Talking about the importance of sleep and the effects of lack of sleep on the brain, Dr. S Ramesh, Consulting Neurosurgeon, Kamineni Hospitals, said, "Sleep is one of the most important parts of any person's daily routine. Sleep is important for many brain-related functions."
He also said that lack of proper sleep also harms the response system along with new memory. The brain controls the human body and its functions. It is important to know that sleep affects every aspect and every organ of the human body, especially it has a special effect on the brain.
Dr. CH Vijay, Consultant Neurologist, KIMS Icon Hospital, Visakhapatnam, said, "Good sleep has a positive effect on health. On the other hand, lack of sleep affects the brain, heart and lungs." He said that many people complain of mood swings, which is also directly related to the quality of sleep and its effect on the brain.
He said that I appeal to everyone to focus on getting at least seven hours of good sleep every day, no matter what profession they are in. "We strongly believe that healthy sleep habits are most important for maintaining a healthy brain and its better functioning."
The World Neurology Federation was founded on 22 July 1957, but it was only in 2013 that the Public Awareness and Advocacy Committee of the Federation proposed that its foundation day be declared as World Brain Day. This year the theme of this day is 'Brain Health and Prevention', which includes the mission to actively assess and address neurological diseases. The day also emphasizes the importance of early detection and effective management of brain diseases.
