Lalduhoma to take oath as Mizoram CM today
MIZORAM: Zoram People's Movement leader Lalduhoma will take oath as Mizoram CM today. Lalduhoma had met Governor Haribabu Kambhampati at Aizawl Raj Bhavan on Wednesday morning and staked claim to form the government. In the elections, Lalduhoma's party Zoram People's Movement won 27 out of 40 seats. N Zoramthanga got 10 seats, BJP got 2 seats and Congress got 1 seat.
Lalduhoma is a former IPS officer. Who has handled the security of Indira Gandhi. Lalduhoma had won the Lok Sabha elections in 1984 on Congress ticket. After this, when he had differences with the Congress, he was disqualified. Anti-defection law was used for this. He became the first MP to be disqualified under the anti-defection law. After this, he won the election as an independent candidate from Aizawl West seat in 2018.
