Lallu Exhorts Congress Men To Strengthen the Party In Odisha
BHUBANESWAR: After Ajay Kumar Lallu has been appointed as the All India Congress Committee (AICC) In-Charge for Odisha, replacing Dr. Ajoy Kumar reviewed the party in Odisha first time to infuse new spirit into congress leaders and workers.
Odisha in-charge of Congress Ajay Kumar Lallu kick started his innings on February 20 by participating Sankalpa Yatra launched by the newly appointed Odisha PCC President Bhakta Das at Puri. He offered prayer at Puri Jaganatha temple.
After winding up the Sankalpa Padayatra to Puri with president of the Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) Bhakta Charan Das, the Odisha Congress-in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu took stock of the organisational activities for the last four days from February 21 to February 24.
The Odisha Congress-in-charge Lallu had a marathon meeting with all sections of the congress party in the state of Odisha. These include the elected MP and MLAs,ex-ministers,ex and present AICC office bearers,ex CWC members,PCC presidents, party candidates of last assembly and Lok Sabha poll, frontal organisations like Mahila,Yuva and student congress, district functionaries and all other party functionaries of the state during these three days .After a meeting was held in which PCC President,AICC In-Charge and AICC Secretary in-charge Odisha participated. At last the in-charge took a review meeting with state media department.
During the meetings from February 21 to February 24, he collected information from the leaders of all sections about how to strengthen the organisation from grass root to state level. He had asked the congress leaders to fight for the interest of the people at all the time.
He exhorted all the congress men in the state to work hard for the interest of the people as the people wants congress at the helm.The only work of the congress is the progress of the state”, he maintained.
Lallu said that the corruption by the double engine government will be exposed in due course in the state. The adivasi women and weaker sections of the state are not secure,questioning whatever the assurances were given confined to the pen and paper. “Congress will fight in the corruption and inefficiency of the corrupt double engine government in the future”,he said.
Addressing a media conference here at Congress Bhawan on February 21 along with newly-appointed Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president Bhakta Charan Das and other senior leaders, Lallu charged the double engine government of doing nothing for the state. He said every congress workers is fighter who doesn’t fear in his life.
He underlined the first duty of the congress is to dislodge the government and centre and the state who indulge hatred and violence in the state. He mentioned that gross injustice is being meted out to scheduled cast, tribes and weaker sections of the society. Specially, the government is forcibly acquiring the land of the adivasis to hand over to handful industrial houses.

“Congress will not tolerate this and will launch movement right from street to assembly. Our first and foremost duty is to bring down the double engine government for spreading lies, hatred and anger violence in the country”, Lallu said.
The congress will continue its struggle for social justice, solution to farmers’ problem, preserving the rights of the farmers, women empowerment, employment for youths, and for the changes in education and health. The weak government of central government and lax administration by union home minister have been proved. The price of goods is touching the sky, People have no savings.
“The party’s resolve for the tribal, Dalit, and neglected communities will continue to be fought for relentlessly”,Lallu said.
Among others,former president Jaydev Jena, Prasad Harichandan, and former Union Minister Srikant Jena, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Dr. Giridhar Gamang, former MP Dr. Ramachandra Khuntia, Jagannath Pattnaik, Nakul Nayak, former Minister Bijayalaxmi, Odisha co-in-charge Shahanawaz Choudhury, Rozalin Tirkey, Anant Sethi, Sarat Rout, former MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, Dr. Debashish Pattnaik, Navajyoti Pattnaik, Bishwajit Das, and others were present at the press conference.
