Maharashtra: 2 workers killed and 4 injured in explosion in Raigad chemical factory
RAIGAD:Two workers were killed and four were injured in an explosion at a chemical factory in Raigad district of Maharashtra.According to police,the explosion took place at around 11.15 am in the 'Sadhana Nitro Chem Limited' factory located at Dhatav MIDC in Roha town, 110 km from Mumbai.
Raigad Superintendent of Police Somnath Gharge said, "There was an explosion in the storage tank of the chemical plant.Due to the explosion in the storage tank, two employees working there at that time died and four people were burnt”.
Gharge said that getting information, the fire department and local police officials reached the spot, after which they started search and rescue operation at the spot.
He said that the bodies of both the deceased have been sent for post-mortem and the operation is going on at the spot.
