Maharasthra:Several Injured, Vehicles Set Ablaze As Violent Clashes Erupted Between Two Groups in Nagpur
NAGPUR: In Nagpur, Maharashtra, a violent clash broke out between two groups in the Mahal area on Monday.
Miscreants set several vehicles on fire. Several police personnel were injured in stone-pelting.
According to reports,another clash occurred between 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM in the Hansapuri area on Old Bhandara Road, where a mob burned multiple vehicles and vandalized homes.
Reports suggest that the violence erupted following claims by Muslim organizations that members of Hindu groups, including the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal, burned a piece of cloth during a protest. The cloth reportedly had religious inscriptions on it.
The protest was held demanding the removal of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb’s tomb in Sambhajinagar. For now, the situation is under control, and a heavy police force has been deployed in the area,according to reports.
