Malaysia rejects new China map claiming entire South China Sea, Nepal and Philippines move towards India
Even after the decision of the International Court in 2016, China claims almost the entire area of the South China Sea. The International Court said that China's 'Nine Dash Line' is baseless. In recent times, China has built several artificial islands in the South China Sea and has deployed everything from missiles to fighter jets there. China has a serious dispute with neighboring countries Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei and Taiwan over the South China Sea. Keeping this in view, Philippines has recently given space to America to build a naval base.
'China's claim is one-sided, Malaysia does not recognize it'
Malaysia said that this claim of China is one-sided. Malaysia does not recognize it. Meanwhile, Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is enraged at this new map of China. Balen Shah has cancelled his China trip. The Chinese government had given invitation to Balen Shah. Balen Shah alleged that China has not recognised the new political map of Nepal in its map. In fact, in its map, China has considered the area of Kalapani and Limpiyadhura as part of India, on which Nepal claims it.
Balen Shah said that while doing so, China did not even consult Nepal. In response to the new political map of India, the then Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli had passed a new map in the Parliament of Nepal. Oli was also helped by the then ambassador of China in making this map. Meanwhile, China on Wednesday defended its move to release a new 'standard map' for 2023 showing Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as part of its territory, saying it was a 'routine exercise' as per its law ' and urged India to 'remain calm and unprejudiced' and avoid 'reading too much' into it.
India also gave a befitting reply to China
India on Tuesday lodged a strong protest over China's so-called 'standard map' that claims Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin, saying such moves only complicate the resolution of the border dispute. The Ministry of External Affairs also dismissed these claims as "baseless". Foreign Minister S. "Other people's territory doesn't become yours just by making absurd claims," Jaishankar said in response to a question on China's move related to the map at an event organized by news channel 'NDTV'.
