Malkangiri: Insecticide-treated nets distributed in Mathili block

MALKANGIRI: Insecticide- treated nets were distributed in a special programme held at the Udulibeda Panchayat office in Mathli block. On the occasion, the district additional director of mosquito-borne diseases Odisha Dr. Prabhakar Sahu inaugurated the programme as the chief guest.

After the lamp was lit, an awareness programme was held to alert the people.The chief health officer of the sub Division hospital, Dr. Basant Kumar Sahu, former Block Chairman Smrutiranjan, Mathil Police Station Officer Devadatta Mallik, Udulibeda Sarpanch Dekhanand Khil, Panchayat Masha Bahit Alok Pati, male and female health workers of Odisha and Udulibeda Health Centers, all asha and anganwadi workers and villagers of Mathil area attended on the occasion.

The speakers and guests called upon the people to be aware of mosquito nets how to protect and prevent malaria. The programme was conducted by Ajit Kumar Dadai, District Mosquito Control Adviser and Amirya Ratna Shadangi, Block Mosquito Control.
