Manipal University Jaipur Successfully Organised Model United Nations 11th Edition – MUJMUN 11.0
The conference was inaugurated by the traditional lamp lighting by Prof. (Dr.) Fakira Mohan Nahak, Director- School of Media & Communication, Manipal University Jaipur, Prof. (Dr.) Anthony Savari Raj, Head, Department of Arts, Dr. Avneesh Kumar, Senior faculty member and the faculty coordinator of the event along with the MUJ MUN Secretariate members. Dr. Avneesh welcomed the delegates and introduced the objectives of the MUJMUN 11.0. Prof. Fakira Mohan emphasized on role of youth in world peace. He advocated for the mutual respect, cooperation, co-existence, equality and universal brotherhood. Also stated the importance of MUN in shaping future world leaders and sparking the diplomatic spirit in the youth.
Delegates representing various nations of the world, took part in heated discussions about pressing global issues like gender inequality, cyberterrorism, media consumption, electoral reforms, conflicts, and more. The conference featured multiple committees like the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), United Nations General Assembly (UNGA), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Lok Sabha, Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) and International Press (IP).
Delegates prepared for weeks, conducting extensive research, preparing speeches and questioning global policies as well as developing solutions to problems. “I have learnt more here in the MUJMUN in the past two days than I learned at school.”, said a delegate from Delhi.
The two-day conference came to an end with an awards ceremony felicitating best delegates, high commendations, special mentions of each committee, for their brilliant performance. Students left the conference inspired and motivated to continue their engagement in global issues.
Jatin Juneja, the secretary general, Tanay Shah, the deputy secretary general and Ananya Jaitly, the Charge D’ Affairs of the conference declared the conference a wonderful success and thanked the Executive Boards, Delegates and their team for contributing greatly to the conference’s success.
The success of this year’s MUN highlights the growing interest among young people in international affairs and their commitment to creating a more sustainable and equitable world. The organizing committee thanked the President, Pro-President and Registrar of Manipal University Jaipur for their unwavering support and guidance in organising the event successfully.
