Married woman in Pallahara raped and brutally murdered, one arrested

 According to police, the woman who is having four children also has husband. Though they are the native of the Nandinipali village they normally stay at nearby Haripur village where they graze cattle and goats. Last Thursday, the woman had come to her native village to lift BPL rice. She took BPL rice and left it at home and later she came out of the home to village site with Aju in search of liquor. They reached Anganwadi centre in the village.There Aju who was heavily drunk earlier caught the woman and raped in the centre.

 Police said, Aju was heavily drunk and raped the woman in that Anganwadi centre. The woman had threatened Aju to  reveal his ill activities to her husband after which Aju was nervous and furious.He brought a brick from nearby and hit her head repeatedly with that brick. Then he allegedly strangled her to death.

 Aju according to police is originally a native of Pallahara town but has been staying in Nandinipali for the last several years in his relative's house. He has a good friendship with the husband of the woman and the entire family also.

 The IIC Pradeep Mohanta said, police got information of the dead body lying in the Anganwadi centre on next Friday evening. He said vigorous investigations were launched with pressing of scientific teams and dogs into the spot.

 "During investigations it was found that the woman had gone to the centre with two of the villagers and then we interrogated Aju whom he nabbed from Pallahara after returning from Deogarh. He admitted of having committed the rape and murder and was forwarded to court yeaterday.We,at this point couldn't establish gang rape while it is under investigation. He killed the woman in a very inhuman manner”, said the IIC.
