'My father used to abuse me sexually during my childhood ',says DCW President Swati Maliwal

Delhi Women's Commission Chairperson Swati Malveel has made serious allegations against her father.

Speaking at an event, she said that her father used to sexually abuse her. Not only this, he used to beat her badly in anger. 100 women have been honored on International Women's Day in Delhi on Saturday. Speaking on this occasion, Swati Maliwal expressed her pain.

She said, “I still remember my father sexually assaulting me. When he used to come to the house, I used to get very scared. I still remember how many nights I spent under the bed because I was afraid, trembling and agreeing. At that time I used to think what should I do to teach a lesson to those who do wrong with girls. I can never forget my father used to get so angry that he used to come and when he felt like it, without any reason, used to grab the braid, throw it on the wall, used to bleed, used to feel very anguished, but completely Time used to go on how to change this system.

 

 She further added that her family has helped her a lot in overcoming this childhood trauma. Swati said, “If I did not have my mother, my aunt, my maternal uncle and my maternal grandparents in my life, I do not think I would ever have come out of this childhood trauma and today I am standing among you with such a big- I could do great things. I have realized that when there is a lot of oppression, then there is a lot of change, because of that oppression, such a fire burns inside you that if you show the right path, then you can do many big things.

In Delhi today, people who have shown extraordinary courage and commitment to the cause of women have been honored. On this occasion, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal honored the winners on Saturday. Around 100 women were given awards by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW).
