Mystery shrouds death of married woman in Dhenkanal

 DHENKANAL:A 32-year married woman died suspiciously amid the allegation by her paternal family that extra-marital relationship of her husband and dowry torture behind her death.

The deceased has been identified as Amita Rana,the wife of Prasant Rana,34 of village Baliamba under Bhapur police outpost.

According to police Amita took poison on Monday morning and was rushed to Dhenkanal district medical where she succumbed. The mentor reported to Bhapur police in Monday morning who rushed to the spot and began investigation. The body was sent for post mortem today.

 

 Prasant who is an employee in a private firm had married Amita 11 years ago. The couple had two sons.Amita belongs to Kadamal village in Cuttack district. The father of Amita Premananda Jena has lodged  police complaint in Bhapur police out post that his daughter was actually killed by her husband.He also mentioned in the FIR that Prasant was torturing her daughter for dowry over the past years.She was forced to take poision,he alleged.There were also allegations that Prasant has extra-marital relationship for which the couple quarrel modst often.To get rid of her prasant has allegedly killed her.

Bhapur Out Post Officer-In-Charge Santanu Pradhan said he has received a complaint from deceased’s father that Amita was actually killed.He said, it is also alleged that she was forced to take poision and Prasant is having extra-marital relationship.

“We have started investigations from all angle to arrive at the conclusion as to what led her to consume poision.There is a case registered in the out post but there is a difficulty remains that Prasant is absconding after the death of her wife.We are making efforts to catch him.After that the things will be clear”,said police.
