Mystery shrouds over the death of a college girl in Dhenkanal

DHENKANAL: The death of one plus two first year science student Soumya Prabha Sahoo,16 in college hostel of Vidhyarthi College on Thursday evening has shrouded in mystery.

The private college is situated at about 7 kilometers away from Dhenkanal town.Police on Thursday evening brok upon the doors of the hostel room last evening and found the student was hanging from the roof.It recovered the body and sent for post mortem today.While police says that it was a case of suicidal hanging the family members alleged that it was a pre-planned murder..The deceased belong to Rasol area of Hindol subdivision.

Today,the father of the deceased Niranjan Sahoo lodged a complaint at Sadar plice station that his daughter was actually murdered in the college rejecting police claim of suicidal hanging.He said someone has killed his daughter and had hanged in the hostel room to cover the crime.

Today relatives and locals belonging to the deceased blocked the NH-55 for two hours demanding the arrest of the culprits.The blockade was called off after police assured proper investigations and action in connection with the death.

Sadar IIC Dipak lenka said following the complaint of the deceased father,a case of murder has been registered in police station.He said he would launch a vigorus investigations into the incident after getting the post mortem report.

As a prima facie,the case seems to be suicidal hanging,he maintained.
