Nalco oustees are on 20-days dharna demanding permanent job in the company
They regretted though the public sector Nalco has acquired their land as early in 1984 so far it has failed to address their employment issues. These land oustees have spread overTalcher,Angul and Chhendipada block areas.Though they are on dharna for last 20 days no one either from district administration or Nalco have met them to solve the issue.
The Sangha Secretary Prasant Kumar Samal said there were 198 land oustees of 39 villages had gone for Nalco Spnsored ITI Training after the completion only five have been absorbed in Nalco while other 193 are still waiting for permanent job in Nalco.Despite several meetings at district and state level Nalco is refusing to give employment to these ITI trained Nalco oustees.”This denial has resulted in frustration among the genuine land oustees who have decided to launch agitation and if necessary would go for fast-on-to-death for the fulfilment of their demands.
The Special land Acquisition Officer for Nalco of state government Sukanta Kumar Sahoo when contacted said,”We have intimated the demands of the oustees to Nalco which said there is no provision of permanent employment to these ITI trained”.
Repeated attempts were made to contact Nalco General Manager Asutosh Ratha but he didn’t respond.
Meanwhile,Talcher-Angul Banchao Andolan Convener Jagadananda Pradhan while supported the agitating youths has urged chief minister to consider their demands.
Nalco PRO Samir Majhi said that the company goes on recruitment as per the procedure and rules laid down by government.
