Notorious criminal encountered by Talcher town police

ANGUL:Talcher town police on Wednesday night have encountered a notorious criminal active in four districts.The criminal has been identified as Susant Kumar Naik,40 was injured having bullet injury in his left leg.He was rushed to SCB Medical College Cuttack for treatment. Police however, nabbed his associate Prafulla Naik 34 and arrested him today.

Speaking at a press conference additional SP Rajib Lochan Panda said last night there was an intelligence report that these two criminals were planning to commit crime at Talabeda jungle.A police team was despatched who surrounded these two criminals and ordered them to surrender. But Susanta without surrendering fired two shots from his pistol towards police.Police team retaliated against the fire and injured Susanta in his leg.Then the team captured Susant but at the same time his associate Prafulla Naik came out with a sharp-edged weapon and attacked police party.

Police team overpowered Prafulla and seized the weapon.Panda said,these two criminals were brought to police station and injured was shifted to hospitals.Prafulla was arrested and forwarded to court today.The additional SP also said that these two,particularly Susanta has been active in Angul,Dhenkanal,Jjpur and Deogarh district where he is has committed many crimes. The condition of Susant is stable and after the recovery he will also be arrested.
