Odisha Congress in-charge Ajay Kumar Lallu slams double engine govt for promoting hatred, violence, and division among people

By Jagadananda Pradhan

Fast Mail News: Ajay Kumar Lallu, the newly appointed congress-in-charge for Odisha has slammed the double engine government both at the centre and in Odisha for promoting hatred, violence, and division among the people.

Lallu, while addressing media at Congress Bhawan in Bhubaneswar, said ,“My first task will be to bring down the double-engine government in the state, which is promoting hatred, violence, and division. Gross injustices are being inflicted on the tribal people, scheduled castes, and backward classes in this state”.

He said that every Congress worker is a warrior and they are not afraid.

“In Odisha, the lands of tribals and scheduled castes are being forcibly acquired and handed over to certain selected businessmen. Not only that, the law-and-order situation has become extremely dire since this government came to power, with more than 11 farmers committing suicide and tribal women facing brutal atrocities in various parts of the state. The safety of women, in general, has become a serious concern, yet this government is not addressing it seriously”Lallu said.

He stated  that the state’s mineral resources are being looted, and there is a conspiracy to hand over Odisha’s vital mineral wealth to Adani. Congress will not tolerate this. The agitation will continue from the streets to the Assembly.

In the coming days, the party will keep fighting for social justice, the issues of farmers, the rights of laborers, the progress of women, employment for the youth, and widespread reforms in education and healthcare.

“The weak governance of the central government and the incompetence of the Home Minister have been proven repeatedly. Prices have skyrocketed today, and people have no savings left. The party has made a firm resolve for the tribals, dalits, and neglected sections, and the struggle for them will continue relentlessly, said  Lallu.

Addressing media at the Bhawan on Friday, the newly appointed odisha PCC President Bhakta Charan Das said, “My first task is to unite everyone and build Congress into a formidable force in the state. I have no desire to become the Chief Minister. If I can strengthen the party and bring it to power, I will consider all my life’s aspirations fulfilled—that is the only prayer I have offered to Lord Jagannath.

“Congress is prepared to sacrifice everything to protect the interests of the people. In the days ahead, the Student Congress, Youth Congress, and Mahila Congress, would go for battle across the state, involving all frontline organizations.

Among others, former president Jayadev Jena, Prasad Harichandan, former Union Minister Srikant Jena, former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Dr. Giridhar Gamang, former MP Dr. Ramachandra Khuntia, Jagannath Pattnaik, Nakul Nayak, former minister Vijayalakshmi, Odisha co-in-charge Shahanawaz Choudhury, Rosalin Tirkey, Anant Sethi, Sharat Rout, former MLA Santosh Singh Saluja, Dr. Debashish Pattnaik, Navajyoti Pattnaik,Dr.Biswaranjan Mohanty, Bishwajit Das, and others were present at the press conference.
