One woman died in mishap on NH-55 at Turang

ANGUL:In an incident that occurred on NH-55 near village Turang under Nalco police station one 35-year-old woman was killed and another injured.The incident triggered tension among the local residents who threatened road blockade on NH-55.How ever,due to police intervention they didn’t resort the road blockade.

The deceased has been identified as Bharati sahoo,35 of Turanga village.The IIC of Nalco police station Pradeep Amanta said, Bharati was going from a motor cycle which has driven by her relative to Banarpal early this morning for some work.

As soon as they reached Nalco gate number 2 their motorcycle fell down and a truck coming from behind hit the motorcycle.Bharati died on the spot and the motorcycle driver was injured.The truck was seized but the driver absconded.The incident created tension among the locals.But they were pacified by police.

From Angul to Nalco not only the road are in a bad condition but there are also heavy traffic jam on the road.Accidents do occur most frequently on this five kilometer stretch road due to bad road condition.
