President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated Gaja Utsav in Kaziranga National Park

Golaghat (Assam), Apr 7, (Fasst Mail News):-- President Draupadi Murmu inaugurated the two-day Gaj Utsav 2023 today (Friday) at Kaziranga National Park under Golaghat district. The President inaugurated the Gaj Utsav by lighting the lamp. A souvenir was also released on the occasion.

Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, Union Minister Ashwini Choubey, Assam Government Ministers Atul Bora and Chandra Mohan Patwari along with a large number of other dignitaries were present on the occasion.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that elephants are an integral part of the heritage of Indian civilization and their conservation is of national importance. The Chief Minister thanked President Draupadi Murmu for inaugurating the Gaja Utsav and giving priority to this noble initiative.

The Chief Minister briefed about the various steps being taken by the Assam government to eliminate man-animal conflict. The Chief Minister thanked the Government of India for choosing Assam to host the Gaja Utsav this year.
