Priyanka challenges Lok Sabha speaker's objection to 'Jai Samvidhaan' chant

NEW DELHI:Priyanka Gandhi has alleged that the ruling party people were not stopped from raising unparliamentary and unconstitutional slogans in Parliament, but objection was raised on the opposition MP saying 'Jai Samvidhan'. The opposition to the Constitution that came to the fore during the elections has now come in a new form.

After taking oath as MP in Lok Sabha today, Speaker Om Birla not only objected to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor saying Jai Samvidhan, but also silenced Deepender Hooda by scolding him when he opposed it. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has asked on this stand of the Speaker that can't 'Jai Samvidhan' be said in Parliament?

Shashi Tharoor took oath as Lok Sabha member on the fourth day of the Parliament session. After the oath, he raised slogans of 'Jai Samvidhaan', opposing which Speaker Om Birla said that you are already taking oath of the Constitution, so what is the need to say it. On this, many Congress leaders stood up against Om Birla and started protesting. Congress MP Deepender Hooda told the Speaker that you should not object to this. After this, while replying to Deepender Hooda, Speaker Om Birla said that do not give advice on what to object to and what not to, come and sit.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has also raised questions on this matter. Priyanka Gandhi wrote on her social media platform X, "Can't 'Jai Samvidhaan' be said in the Parliament of India? People of the ruling party were not stopped from raising unparliamentary and unconstitutional slogans in Parliament, but objection was raised on the opposition MP saying 'Jai Samvidhaan'.

The opposition to the Constitution that came to the fore during the elections has now come in a new form which wants to weaken our Constitution." Priyanka Gandhi further said, "The Constitution by which the Parliament runs, the Constitution by which every member takes oath, the Constitution by which every citizen gets protection of life and survival, will that same Constitution be opposed now to suppress the voice of the opposition?"
