Rahul Gandhi accuses BJP-RSS of insulting Ambedkar and the Constitution

Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Monday accused the BJP and RSS of insulting Ambedkar and the Constitution made by him at the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhaan' rally held in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh. He asked party workers to work to save the Constitution from those in power.

While addressing the 'Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhaan' rally, Rahul Gandhi announced that the Congress will conduct a nationwide caste census soon after coming to power at the Centre. He alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will never do so. Rahul Gandhi also said that the Congress will abolish 50 percent reservation limit and will bring a law in this regard in both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

The Congress leader accused the BJP-led central government of working for billionaires and said Dalits, backward classes, tribals and the poor are being enslaved once again as employment opportunities are being eliminated and the wealth of the country is being handed over to only a few capitalists. "The BJP and the RSS want a pre-independence situation in the country where the poor have no rights and only the rich have it," he said.

Rahul Gandhi also accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) of trying to change the Constitution framed by Ambedkar and said that was why he gave the slogan of "400 Paar" in last year's Lok Sabha elections. "The day our Constitution changes, there will be nothing left for the backward classes, Dalits, tribals in the country," Rahul Gandhi said at the rally.
