Rahul Gandhi in Lok Sabha: 'Manufacturing at 60-year low, PM fails to make Make in India a success'

NEW DELHI(Fast Mail) : On the third day of the budget session of Parliament on the motion of thanks on the President's address the leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that there was nothing new in the President's address.

Speaking on the motion of thanks to the President's address in the Lok Sabha, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi said, "I listened to the President's address. I've heard almost the same speech before, these are the same things that the government has done."

He further said, "This is not the address of the President, which I expected. It made me wonder what the address of the President would have been if there was an 'INDIA alliance’ government. The future of this country will be decided by the youth of India. I think whatever we say should be said with the youth in mind. The first thing before us is that even though we have progressed and are still progressing, we are capable of dealing with the universal problem of unemployment. No. Neither the UPA government nor the Only today's NDA government has given a clear answer about employment to the youth of this country.

He said that the Prime Minister's talk about 'Make in India' is a good idea. The result is before you, manufacturing has fallen from 15.3 percent of GDP in 2014 to 12.6 percent of GDP today, the lowest share of manufacturing in 60 years. I am not blaming the Prime Minister, it would not be fair to say that he did not try. I can say that they have tried, but they have failed."

Rahul Gandhi said in Lok Sabha, "People talk about AI, but it is important to understand that AI by itself is absolutely meaningless because AI works on top of data. Without data, AI means nothing and If we look at the data today, one thing is very clear. Every piece of data that comes out of the production system is used to make the phone or the electric car is used for."

He added, "The data used to make basically all the electronics on earth today is owned by China whereas, the consumption data is owned by the United States. China is at least 10 times ahead of India in this field."China has been working on batteries, robots, motors, optics for the last 10 years and we are behind. We will make sure that our banking system is not taken over by two or three companies that basically do not allow you to build a production system."

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said, "I remember before the election you all (BJP) were saying 'cross 400' and saying you will change it (referring to the constitution). Then seeing me Glad that the Prime Minister came in and was forced to bow down to the constitution. It was a proud moment for all the Congressmen. I know that the RSS never accepted it to Independence did not come in 1947. They have said that it is futile. We will never let your dream come true. This Constitution shall govern India forever."

Rahul Gandhi also questioned the bringing of two election commissioners ahead of the Lok Sabha elections and said it was a calculated strategy. We will not get justice in the Election Commission. Referring to Lord Shiva, he said that the country needs to stay connected with the old heritage. You mention Sardar Patel but crush his values ??everyday. You talk about Lord Buddha, but do not follow his values.

Accusing China of occupying Indian land, Rahul Gandhi said that the PM rejected it but the army said that China is occupying 4000 square kilometers of land. Referring to the statement of the Chief of Army Staff, Rahul Gandhi said that China is occupying the land of our country. This is a fact. The fact is that war depends on the industrial system and in this they are ahead of us and that is the reason why China is sitting here and Make in India is failing.

Rahul Gandhi also raised the issue of reservation in the Lok Sabha. Rahul Gandhi said, " A caste-based census has been conducted in Telangana. What he saw there was surprising. Almost 90% of the population in Telangana belongs to Dalits, Tribals, Backward and Minorities and I am sure this is the story in the whole country. If we look at the biggest corporates in this country, none of them are owned by OBCs, Dalits or Adivasis. At the heart of any new development paradigm is the architecture of a new paradigm, and the architecture of a new paradigm can only be created if caste sensitivities are kept to the fore."

Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi said that in the few months between the Lok Sabha elections and the assembly elections in Maharashtra, the number of voters in the state was equal to the population of Himachal Pradesh and thus the Election Commission had to remove the opposition parties from the electoral roll of the state. Associated data should be provided.

Participating in the debate on the motion of thanks on the President's address, he also said that he was not making allegations, but the commission should respond to it.

Rahul Gandhi said, "I want to draw the attention of this House to some data related to the Maharashtra elections. Between the Lok Sabha elections and the assembly elections, people equal to the population of Himachal Pradesh were added to the electoral rolls of Maharashtra. About 70 lakh new voters came in suddenly.''

He said that in Maharashtra, more voters joined in five months than the number of voters who did not join in five years.

Rahul Gandhi claimed, "7,000 voters were added in one building in Shirdi... Interestingly, the new voters were mostly in the constituencies where the BJP was leading."

The Congress leader said, "I am not making allegations. All I'm saying is that the Election Commission should make the Maharashtra election data available to Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and NCP (SP)."

Earlier, the Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) had sought a response from the Election Commission regarding the increase in the 'number of voters'.

The Congress had earlier claimed that Maharashtra had a staggering increase of over 50 lakh voters in a span of five months.

The Election Commission had said in December that the names of voters in the state were neither added nor deleted arbitrarily.
