Rahul Says,Modi Attacking Constitution Recruiting Public Servants Through RSS Instead of UPSC
NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has attacked the Modi government on recruitment through lateral entry on important posts in various ministries of the Center. He said that Narendra Modi is attacking the Constitution by recruiting public servants through 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh' instead of Union Public Service Commission. He also said that the reservation of SC-ST and OBC class is being snatched openly.
Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha and Congress MP Rahul Gandhi in a post on X targeted the Modi government over the decision to soon appoint 45 experts through 'lateral entry' on the key posts of Joint Secretaries, Directors and Deputy Secretaries in various ministries of the Center and said that PM Narendra Modi is attacking the Constitution by recruiting public servants through 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh' instead of Union Public Service Commission. The reservation of SC, ST and OBC class is being snatched openly. He said that I have always said that the underprivileged are not represented in all the top positions of the country including the top bureaucracy.
He wrote on X on Sunday, "Narendra Modi is attacking the Constitution by recruiting public servants through 'Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh' instead of the Union Public Service Commission. By recruiting through lateral entry on important posts in various ministries of the central government, reservation of SC, ST and OBC class is being snatched away openly. I have always said that the underprivileged are not represented in all the top positions of the country including the top bureaucracy, instead of improving it, they are being further distanced from top positions through lateral entry.''
He further wrote, "This is a robbery of the rights of talented youth preparing for UPSC and an attack on the concept of social justice including reservation for the underprivileged. SEBI is a prime example of what representatives of a few corporates will do by occupying decisive government positions, where for the first time a person from the private sector has been made the chairperson.'' Finally, he wrote, ''India Alliance will strongly oppose this anti-national step that hurts both the administrative structure and social justice. 'Privatisation of IAS' is 'Modi's guarantee' to end reservation.''
Earlier, Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav also expressed his opposition to 'lateral entry' today and wrote on X, ''The time has come to launch a nationwide movement against the conspiracy that BJP is hatching to place its ideological allies in high government positions in UPSC through the back door. This method will close the way for today's officers as well as the youth to reach higher positions in the present and future." Akhilesh Yadav further said that common people will be limited to the posts of clerks and peons. The whole plan is to snatch reservation and rights from the PDA. Now when the BJP has come to know that the PDAs across the country have woken up against the BJP's plan to end the Constitution, it wants to deny reservation by making direct recruitment to such posts on some other pretext."
