Rain creates havoc across India; landslides on mountains, flood in plains

NEW DELHI: Rain has wreaked havoc in many states,including Uttarakhand,Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Northeastern states. Due to landslides at various places in Himachal, vehicular movement has been closed on 213 roads including the National Highway and in Uttarakhand too.Mountains have collapsed and fell  on roads and traffic has been disrupted.

Rain has been continuing in Delhi-NCR for the past several days.The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain from August 14 to August 16. During this period, moderate to heavy rain is expected. After that the rain will be somewhat light.

 

 

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of rain for the next seven days. According to the IMD, heavy rains have occurred in eastern Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Kerala and Tamil Nadu in the last 24 hours. In Rajasthan, there has been heavy rainfall for the last three days and at least 22 people have lost their lives.

At the same time, heavy rains occurred at various places in Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Gujarat region, western Rajasthan, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura as well as in the Gangetic areas of western Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal.
