RSS is engaged in destroying country's education system : Rahul Gandhi

NEW DELHI: Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, on Monday alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is working to destroy the education system of the country.

Addressing a joint protest by student wings of various constituent parties of the ‘INDIA’ alliance at Jantar Mantar here, he said that the RSS and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) must be stopped and defeated together.

The student wings of opposition parties had called for a ‘Parliament March’ over the draft guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the issue of paper leaks.

Rahul Gandhi claimed, 'One organization is engaged in destroying the future and education system of India. That is RSS. |If the education system goes into their hands, which it is slowly doing, the country will be ruined, and no one in this country will get employment”he said.

He further said, “Today, students need to be told that all vice-chancellors of central universities are nominated by the RSS, and in coming time, vice-chancellors of all state universities will also be nominated by the RSS. This is dangerous for the country. We must stop it.”

Rahul Gandhi alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi does not want to talk about unemployment and inflation.

He said, “The biggest issue in the country is unemployment. A few days ago, the Prime Minister spoke about the Mahakumbh in the Lok Sabha. I wanted to say that it’s good to talk about the Kumbh, but we should talk about the future, we should talk against unemployment”.

The former Congress president claimed that the Prime Minister does not talk about unemployment, inflation, and the education system because the Prime Minister’s model, the BJP and RSS’s model, is to give all the wealth to Adani and Ambani and hand over control of all institutions to the RSS.

He told the student organizations, 'There may be slight differences in our ideologies and policies, but we will never compromise on India’s education system. We will move forward together and defeat the RSS-BJP.'"
