Sanjay Raut calls Mahakumbh stampede deaths 'administrative murder'

MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut has questioned the administrative arrangements regarding deaths due to  Mahakumbh stampede in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Wednesday. He said that more than 10 people have lost their lives in this stampede. This is an assassination by the administration. He said that if the system was good, this situation would not have arisen today.

Sanjay Raut said,"When VVIPs arrive, the entire ghat is closed. When the Defence Minister and the Home Minister arrives, the entire ghat was being closed. This increased pressure on the system, which led to the stampede.

"More than 10 people have died in this stampede. It is a murder by the administration," he said. He said that more than 10,000 crores of rupees have been spent in Kumbh. Where did the money go? If the system was good, this situation would not have arisen today. Hundreds of people were injured in this incident today.

The Shiv Sena (UBT) leader said that the BJP was engaged in campaigning through this Mahakumbh. BJP was trying to make political gains through Kumbh. He said that when VVIPs go there, the entire ghat is closed. Due to this reason, a stampede-like situation has arisen. A single day should be fixed for VVIPs under which it is clear that all VVIPs will come on that day and no other person will be allowed to come on that day.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi while addressing an election rally in Delhi confirmed the death of some people in the stampede. At the same time, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has held a high-level meeting regarding the stampede in Prayagraj.

After the meeting, he said that there was a lot of crowd pressure in Prayagraj and the incident that took place was due to the demolition of the barricades. The situation is currently under control. The administration is ready for everyone's cooperation." He appealed to the devotees to follow the instructions of the administration and not pay heed to rumours. Take bath at whatever ghat they are at. Bathing at Sangam Nose is not necessary, all devotees Avoid going there.
