Sensex drops 760 points, Nifty dips 234 points
Benchmark domestic equity indices, Sensex and Nifty, were trading around one per cent down due to heavy selling pressure in the afternoon trade today, amid weak global cues, and ongoing foreign outflows. The 30-share BSE Sensex tanked 760 points, to 75,430, and the NSE Nifty50 dipped 234 points, to 22,858, when reports last came in.
The broader market at the Bombay Stock Exchange was also trading with deeper cuts. The Mid-Cap index lost two and ha half per cent and the Small-Cap index plunged over three and a half per cent, a short while ago.
