Sensex, Nifty continue to rally in early trade on Wednesday

NEW DELHI: The domestic stock markets continued to rally in early trade today. The business on Wednesday also started with a boom with both the Sensex and the Nifty fell for a while as profit-taking started after the market opened, but after a while buyers pushed the pace of both the indices higher. The Sensex was trading up 0.38 percent and the Nifty up 0.40 percent after trading till 10 am.

 Stock market heavyweights Bajaj Auto, Bharat Electronics, Wipro, Shriram Finance and Infosys were trading between 4.02 per cent and 1.77 per cent higher after 10 am. On the other hand, shares of BPCL, Tata Consumer Products, Hindustan Unilever, Britannia and Nestlé were seen trading with declines of 1.51 per cent to 0.53 per cent.

 The stock market saw active trading in 2,349 shares during the trading session so far. Out of these, 2,001 stocks were trading in the green with profit making, while 348 stocks were trading in the red with losses. Similarly, out of 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 21 stocks remained in the green with the support of buying. On the other hand, 9 stocks were trading in the red due to selling pressure. While out of 50 stocks included in Nifty, 39 stocks were seen trading in the green mark and 11 stocks in the red mark.

 

BSE's Sensex opened up 236.83 points at 76,138.24 points today. The index jumped to 76,257.28 points in early trading on support of buying, but after a while, selling pressure came in, causing the Sensex to dive as high as 75,983.53 points. However, after this once again the buyers pushed in, due to which the speed of this index accelerated. The Sensex was trading at 76,190.11 with a gain of 288.70 points after trading till 10 am amidst continuous buying and selling in the market.

 Like the Sensex, the NSE's Nifty jumped 69.50 points to open at 23,026.75. The index reached 23,069.85 points after market opening on the support of buying, but it also fell to 22,976.50 points as selling started. However, after a while, the buyers once again made a buying push, due to which the movement of this index accelerated. The Nifty was trading at 23,050 with a gain of 92.75 points after trading in the market till 10 am between continuous buying and selling.

 Prior to this, the Sensex closed at 75,901.41 with a gain of 535.24 points or 0.71 percent on the previous trading day. At the same time, the Nifty ended Tuesday's trading at the level of 22,957.25 points with an increase of 128.10 points or 0.56 percent.
