Three dead bodies recovered from house in Dhenkanal village

DHENKANAL:Dhenkanal Sadar police have recovered three dead bodies from the house belonging to one Chaulia Khamar village today after three days passed their deaths.Police have confirmed the death occurred due to suicidal hanging.The deceased have been identified as Sankarsan Das,his daughter Subarna Das,40 and Santosh Das,16.

Santosh was reading in college was the son of Subarna.

The additional SP Suryamani Pradhan said,these three had committed suicide on Thursday night but was known today.The wife of Puspanjali who was residing in house didn’t reveal the incident to anybody till his son was intimated by the neighbours.

Pradhan said,Sankarsan Das was a retired railway employee who was staying in the village with his married daughter Subarna and granddaughter Santosh besides, his wife Puspanjali.His only son stays outside his home with his family at Dhenkanal town.

Pradhan also said that all the family members were mentally retarded and were suffering from fear psychosis. They used to call police frequently fearing attacks but when police reached they stayed at home locking their house. Time and again, they were doing this giving false alarm the police and neighbours.

Pradhan suspected due to their mental imbalances they have committed suicide by hanging from a roof of two rooms. Though Puspanjali knew, she didn’t inform to anybody about the incident till today.

Scientific teams from Cuttack was pressed into service and the bodies were sent for post mortem,he added.

Three unnatural death cases have been registered in Sadar plice station, according to Pradhan.
