Two awarded death penalty by Athmallick court on triple murder case

ANGUL:The additional district judge of Athmallick has awarded death sentences to two murderers today in connection with the murder of three men in Gambharimalia village in October 2027.The two persons who got death sentences are Prakash Behera and Nanda Kishore Sethy,both are relaives .Besides,they were imposed a fine of one lakh and also awarded sentences for commiting kidnapping.

According to Pradeep Kumar Das,the Public Prosecutor of Angul on October 10,2017 the two accused Prakash and Nanda on issue of money matter murdered Biranch Naik of that village and then they killed his wife Tarini and son Naba.

A case was registered in Kishore Nagar police station regarding the triple murder and police arrested two persons in this connection.Das said a total of 41 witnesses were examined in the trial and finally the Learned Judged has awarded death penalty to the accused today.He said the court also imposed a fine of rupees one lakh.

This triple murder in that year had created ripples not only in Kishore Nagar but also in entire Athamallik area.With this sentence the people have welcomed the verdict.Now the accused will go to High Court for relief,said the PPP.
