Walkathon in Delhi on World Health Day, people ran
New Delhi, Apr 7, (Fast Mail News):-- On World Health Day, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare organized a walkathon in New Delhi today. Union Health Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya led the walkathon along with Minister of State Dr. Bharti Praveen Pawar. The event was organized under the theme of 'Health for All'. The objective of the walkathon was to create awareness about healthy habits not only to keep away non-communicable diseases (NCDs) but also to have a positive impact on mental health.
About 350 participants involved in the walkathon reached Nirman Bhawan from Vijay Chowk. The participants took a pledge to lead a healthy and active life to prevent and control lifestyle related health problems, diseases like hypertension, diabetes, mental illness and cancer.
Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya thanked everyone on this occasion. He said that "It remains India's philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam where we think about the progress of all. This philosophy was seen during the Corona crisis, when India provided vaccines and medicines to needy countries without considering any commercial profit." Medical supplies were provided.India has been at the forefront to help every stakeholder and in this spirit India is working for the health of its citizens and the world.
Highlighting the importance of health in the development of the country, Dr. Mandaviya said that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, India has linked health with development. Only healthy citizens can build a healthy society and in turn a developed nation. On this elixir of independence, I urge all of you to work together to build a developed and healthy India.
